⚜️To borrow what Steve Jobs said three decades ago at MIT Sloan, if you think of a startup as fruit, then professionals like investors and consultants have seen apples, bananas, oranges, strawberries and so on, but they have never tasted it.⚜️That was exactly how I felt after doing Fintech investment in Silicon Valley for almost five years.⚜️I firmly believe that we are on the cusp of another tech revolution like internet and mobile. My particular sweet spot is the fusion of tech with insurance, like Demex and Arbol, where advanced data capability is combine with subject matter expertise to tackle the challenges caused by climate change. ⚜️ My research was in the field of fast data transmission for 5G wireless. Upon graduation I started my career as a quantitative modeler in financial services, which has a similar theme of detecting "signal" in noisy data. Then I stumbled into the venture investment world, focusing on Fintech, in particular Insurtech. ⚜️The holy grail of my aspiration is innovation bearing fruits. Over the years I strived to make myself an all-around athlete in the professional arena, with certificates from leading institutions as well as actuarial and producer licenses. I am cautiously optimistic that all these experience will become fertile soil to grow something delicious from in the Insurtech world. ⚜️On a personal note I am an energetic traveler and enjoy conversation with strangers from all walks of life. I once moonlighted as an uber driver to hear their amazing stories.
