Researcher on CO2 storage in depleted gas fields as part of the CCS team in the reservoir integrity and containment department.• Conducted an experimental study (core flooding) to investigate hydrate formation and dissociation processes resulting from CO2 injection in a core with varying water saturation.• Developed an empirical model within a numerical simulator (Modular Reservoir Simulator) to simulate CO2 hydrate formation during CO2 injection into depleted gas reservoirs for CCS projects.• Analysed the permeability reduction caused by CO2 hydrate formation within the reservoir.• Performed a sensitivity analysis on hydrate formation, considering variables such as capillary pressure, rock thermal conductivity, reaction rate coefficients, CO2 injection rate, and CO2 injection temperature.• Suggested mitigation strategies to address CO2 hydrate formation.
