Represent the Navy in complex real estate transactions throughout the southeastern United States. Experience with acquisitions, commercial leasing, easements, resolving title issues, submerged lands, disposals, high-stakes negotiations, and litigation support including condemnation/eminent domain actions. Corporate counsel to the Navy in its capacity as a member of, or partner in, certain entities formed in connection with the privatization of military-family housing (i.e., public-private ventures and public-private partnerships). I have a security clearance.

FDIC Closing Attorney for over 25 failed banks. Draft, negotiate and interpret complex agreements related to the resolution of a failed bank and the disposition of its assets and liabilities, including workout, settlement, restructure and purchase and sale contracts. The closest private-sector equivalent is mergers and acquisitions (M&A) of banks. Advise the FDIC's Receiver-in-Charge on all issues arising in connection with the failure of a financial institution, including federal and state banking and receivership law, employee benefits, real estate, litigation and asset disposition. Resolved legal issues involving the FDIC's Shared-Loss Agreements with acquiring institutions.

Practice focused on broad range of commercial real estate law including transactional, land use/entitlements and general litigation. Drafted and reviewed contracts, amendments, easements, covenants, leases, deeds, liens and other transactional documents. Performed due diligence research regarding zoning and land use restrictions and researched and resolved complex title issues.

Held a variety of positions of increasing responsibility culminating in a final assignment as a Captain and Program Manager with responsibility for a $9M annual budget and an 18-man team comprised of contractors, military and civilian personnel. Responsible for the design, operation and maintenance of a computer lab in which classified, proprietary, command and control software systems (C4ISR) were developed, integrated and tested. Oversight of all employee personnel actions and human resources issues (ex., hiring, performance feedback and evaluations, awards and recognition, discipline and employee terminations) and all programmatic issues (ex., attainment of cost, schedule and performance goals, budgeting, manpower and advocating for program funding).
