Senior Production Engineer

Technical and economic evaluation of several mature oil and gas properties for production and exploitation potential in the West Provost region of Alberta. Accomplishments included:• Identified an opportunity to shut down one of two operating gas plants resulting in an operating cost saving of approximately $ 2.0 M / year. The two plants were operating at low capacity with resultant high operating expenses. By putting the entire gas plant throughput through one of the interconnected gas plants, the overall expense and cost per unit volume were decreased by approximately 40 %.• Developed a go-forward plan for a money losing oil unit operated by Husky. This involved drilling some additional wells in the unit, changing some high cost operating practices, and then the selling of Husky’s interest in the unit.• As development engineer, planned, executed, and evaluated a 15 well drilling program (Directional Mannville wells and horizontal multi-stage frac Viking wells).

2011 - 2015 ~4 yrs

Senior Production Engineer

Calgary, Canada

Production engineering support for a small company which had production growth from 4081 to 7740 boe / d (90 % increase) during this period. Accomplishments included:• Member of Anderson’s Horizontal Cardium well team which was responsible for initiation of 1975 boe / d of new Cardium production including selection of the appropriate facilities design. • Investigated several situations where third parties were using Anderson facilities without paying fees. Once these situations were identified, fees and contracts were negotiated (including provision for historical unpaid fees) with the third parties and fee collection was initiated. This has resulted in a positive cash flow of approximately $ 250,000 per year for services Anderson had already been providing.• Subsequent to a property acquisition, identified a development opportunity (4.1 mmcf / d liquids rich gas) which had not been pursued by the previous operator due to facility constraints. Member of the team which proved up the potential, installed adequate facilities, and initiated a drilling program.

2006 - 2011 ~5 yrs

Production Engineer

Calgary, Canada Area

Technical and economic evaluation of a mature water flood and oil and gas wells for production potential and bringing this potential to production as a member of a multi-disciplinary team. These efforts resulted in a 33 % increase in annual production over projected rates. Accomplishments included:• Determining the nature of a formation damage mechanism (scale formation due to incompatible fluid mixing) in the water flood. Worked over several wells based on the results of these efforts for an incremental gain of approximately $ 1,100,000 per year in 2006. • Intervened with the operator of a local gas plant (in which Devon had an interest) to ensure that Devon's production volumes were given priority of processing capacity ahead of non-owners gas. This production was worth $ 10,500,000 per year upon completion of further plant optimization efforts I had also spearheaded.

2001 - 2006 ~5 yrs

Production Engineer

Crestar Energy

Calgary, Canada Area

Technical and economic evaluation of newly completed and existing oil and gas wells for production potential and bringing this potential to production as a member of a multi-disciplinary team. Accomplishments included:• Reduced an average base production decline of 20 % per year to a gas plant to an average of 6 % per year through a combination of well optimization, facility optimization, and reactivation of existing wells. Average cost of production for these incremental volumes was approximately $ 100 / mcf / d.• Identification and confirmation of the existence of a 40 bcf pool of gas, which had not been pursued. The well was worked over and came on production at approximately 4 mmcf / d. Crestar booked 5 bcf net of reserves to the pool. The average finding and development cost was $ 0.24 / mcf.

1997 - 2000 ~3 yrs

Environmental Field Engineer

Morrow Environmental Consultants Inc.

Burnaby, Bc

Duties included:• Responsibility for investigative drilling operations, monitoring of subsurface conditions, collection of groundwater and soil samples, and performance of aquifer tests for physical and chemical parameter collection on projects throughout Western and Northern Canada. • Analysis and interpretation of results of field operations. This included determination of the applicable environmental criteria, selection and implementation of optimal sampling and remediation methodologies and on going project management including preparation of work programs, budgets, schedules, proposals, and reports.
