John was elected into PGA Membership in June 1982. He has served on numerous chapter, section,and national committees and was elected by his fellow PGA Members to two terms as President of the North Florida PGA,1993-95 & 2009-2011. John is currently an Officer and serves as Secretary of the Florida Sports Hall of Fame which recognizes and honors Florida’s greatest sports figures and leverages this collective celebrity to promote fitness awareness, education and sports activities among our state’s youth and adults.

As a 42- year member of the PGA of America, John has fulfilled a variety of roles including golf professional, tournament announcer, golf course owner, association officer, tournament player, broadcaster, consultant, golf manufacturer, promoter, golf writer, golf course developer and student of the game. John joined the Adena Team in October of 2014 to serve as the Club's General Manager and Director of Golf during the startup of the brand new Club. During that time, he accomplished the goal of successfully opening a full scale country club operation that resulted in numerous awards including the #2 Best New Golf Course by Golf Digest in the United States!John's has a passion to teach the game of a lifetime to golfers of all ages and abilities. Through his 40 years of experience of playing and teaching golf, he has literally taught thousands of students ranging from the beginner to the touring professional.

Served for almost 14 years as a working member of the golf media in syndicated broadcast radio as a Producer, Host, and Reporter for "Briefcase Golf.” Stations included both Fox and ESPN affiliates across the U.S. Covered PGA TOUR and Major Golf Championships along with producing numerous golf events and promotions in numerous markets across the U.S. Published Golf Writer in local and national golf magazines, newspapers, and websites including PGA.com, Golfweek, Golf Digest, and Golf Magazine. Appeared on front cover of Golf Magazine with golf instructional tip was named as “Top Ten of All-Time.”

Tampa/St. Petersburg, Florida

Direct to consumer golf manufacturing company. Winner of numerous golf industry awards for quality and innovation. Sold our brand to Callaway Golf who created the #1 selling RAZR golf club line.

Ocala, Florida

A sold out 450 acre private gated residential golf and country club community located in Florida’s equestrian capital. Host of numerous USGA and FSGA golf tournaments with a 14,000 square foot clubhouse, swim, tennis, pool, and 300 seat banquet facility. John sold his equity interest in the Club and remains as a Member.

Gainesville, Florida Area

Served on the start -up development team with Gary Player that constructed the course, clubhouse, swim, and tennis facilities in a rapid paced 6-month time frame within the allotted budget ClubCorp purchased the Club from Gary Player and the local developers and brought in their own staff. John remained as a Member and an Ambassador for the Club.

Jacksonville, Florida

Worked as a consultant for the PGA TOUR's Director of Public Golf, Gary Dee for TPC Tampa Bay and then was recruited to join the PGA TOUR's Golf Club of Jacksonville as the GM/Director of Golf to participate in revamp of operations and in one year, achieved a dramatic 300k turnaround in the net revenue resulting in the positive cash flow for the facility. John was recruited to leave the Club and join the start up project at Haile Plantation Golf and Country Club in Gainesville, Florida with Gary Player.

Tampa/St. Petersburg, Florida Area

Development team with Bobby Stricklin that constructed the course and clubhouse. Created the unique “Golfers Club” branding and operational approach that has been widely copied by the golf industry. Our “eat, sleep, and drink golf” philosophy attracted numerous young touring professionals that went on to become winners of numerous of golf’s major championships. BGC was consistently rated in the Top Ten in the State of Florida by Golfweek Magazine and earned numerous awards including the Top 100 Golf Shops in America Award three years in a row.d John left the Club when it was sold to a group of foreign investors.

Tampa/St. Petersburg, Florida Area

Upon earning membership in the PGA of America, was immediately recruited and hired as the Head Golf Professional at Northdale Golf Club, Tampa, Florida.Responsible for the golf operations, tournaments, and merchandising for a 65,000 rounds a year public golf facility. John left the Club as he was recruited to become the Director of Golf and Instruction at the Bloomingdale Golfers Club.

Tampa/St. Petersburg, Florida Area

Served as Head Golf Coach at Hillsborough Community College, Tampa, Florida. – Recruited, coached, and conducted competitions under NJCAA Governance. Majority of players went on to play on NCAA teams and the PGA TOUR. Concurrently, completed the requirements to become a PGA of America Member.
