Established and managed a Software Quality Control Team to support the migration, and validation of applications (i.e., National Settlement Service (NSS) to FED, CHIPS Simulation, Pre-Funded Calculator and Liquidity Engine off the mainframe platform to distributed platforms. Led the tech turn initiative to replace cost prohibitive legacy QA tools with widely accepted enterprise and open-source technology to improve testing efficiency. • Managed the tech turn initiative to select and implement testing tools and technologies (i.e., IntelliJ, qTest, JIRA, and Selenium WebDriver/TestNG.• Established the TCH Center of Excellence for Test Automation utilizing IntelliJ, qTest, JIRA, and Selenium WebDriver/TestNG.• Oversaw the design and development of test automation scripts that leveraged the in-house Selenium/TestNG based automation framework to automate regression of NSS to FED and CHIPS Simulation applications. • Established and directed a new Software Quality Control team that has developed the requisite knowledge to successfully support the migration and validation of the distributed versions of the NSS and CHIPS Simulation applications.• Led the integration of ALM with Fortify Web Inspect to capture and track the Dynamic Code Scan (security scan) test results including the remediation of defects in ALM.

Prepare and deliver reports, recommendations, or alternatives that address existing and potential trouble areas in IT systems and projects across the organization. • Managed the implementation of an open source web based test management system “Testlink”.• Oversaw the design and development of a test automation framework that utilized Selenium WebDriver/Selenium Grid, TestNG, Appium, and Hibernate.• Established and managed an Automation Test Team that has automated approximately 35% of the regression testing.• Led the design and development of a Web based Test Data Creation Retrieval System. • Managed the successful implementation of Kubernetes and Docker for the QA test environment.

Charlotte, North Carolina Area

Established, developed and actively directed the Charlotte-based Video Quality Assurance Test Engineering Department responsible for the validation of all set-top box (STB) client applications and back office server applications, systems, services and network infrastructure components. Managed lab design and operations, cross-functional communication with key stakeholders as well as metrics collection, analysis and reporting. Managed and collaborated with third-party vendors for equipment acquisition, technical lab support, software release content, and scheduling as well as contract labor vendors who supplied both staff augmentation and total product development and implementation. Managed a $10M capital and $3.5M operational budget and a staff of 41 including 23 test engineers.• Co-inventor on a patent pending in-house test tool used to automate 65% of the 2500 manual test cases, used to validate client functionality across a multiplicity of vendors digital set-top platforms, which substantially increased productivity and efficiency.• Managed and drove the implementation of STB client automation and the use of key performance indicators that reduced production client defects from 12.75% to less than 4%.• Managed the successful implementation of HP’s Quality Center (QC) and QuickTestPro (QTP) for STB clients and back office application server testing respectively.• Directed the successful design of an innovative test tool framework currently being used to develop an automated test harness, that will be used to qualify vendor's set-top platforms prior to the integration of TWC’s resident applications, thereby enhancing time-to-market.• Developed and implemented a Continuity Business Plan that would allow the Quality Assurance Department to continue to operate in a crisis and/or disaster scenario.• Saved $372K annually by implementing a cost benefit analysis program for the Quality Assurance Department’s vendor maintenance/technical support contracts.

Charlotte, North Carolina Area

Validated both new and legacy digital set-top platforms through parametric testing to ensure compliance with functional and regulatory specifications and requirements. • Designed and implemented digital set-top box test plan / cases used to validate the vendor supplied resident applications compliance to functional requirements.• Created a new formal set-top box parametric acceptance test process used to validate vendors’ platforms for compliance with Time Warner Cable’s set-top box functional requirement specifications; this process is still in use.

Managed and led a large software engineering team in the design and development of the Pace Enhanced TV Resident Application (PETRA) for Time Warner Cable (TWC). Conducted design and code reviews, created internal weekly status reports and led monthly customer project review meetings.• Implemented an incentive program for the software engineering team, which resulted in the successful completion of the PETRA development project as well as every member of the team being compensated for their contributions.• Delivered PETRA to TWC on time and within budget, which resulted in Pace receiving a $50M order from TWC for 250,000 Pace set-top boxes. Additionally the PETRA source was provided to TWC, where later on it was rebranded as the Mystro Digital Navigator (MDN), which is still in use on TWC fielded legacy set-top platforms.

Managed a team of 12 system engineers who provided pre and post sales technical support w/r/t boards, high availability carrier grade systems to key telecom OEM customers.• Exceeded design-ins, bookings and revenue quotas for three consecutive years.• Established an on-site demo / inter-operability lab within Nortel’s facility, in order to implement an efficient board and system level evaluation process, which increased sales significantly.• Succeeded in challenging and motivating 80% of my team in participating in Motorola’s Technical Ladder program, where they earned recognition for technical contributions, promotions in grade and salary.

Tele-TV Systems was a leading-edge joint venture between Bell Atlantic, NYNEX and Pacific Bell (PAC-TEL) that pioneered Video-on-Demand (VoD) and interactive video applications for delivery over a variety of networks including MultiChannel Multipoint Distribution System (MMDS) RF spectrum, Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL) and Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) based Fiber To The Curb (FFTC) based networks. Directed a team of 15 software engineers in the design and development of an award-winning Bell Atlantic Video Services branded electronic program guide (EPG) “STARGAZER” that supported VoD and Retail shopping on a digital set-top box, over an ADSL based switched digital network. As a member of the Digital Set-Top Architecture team I defined the hardware and software requirements used in the Tele-TV digital set-top box functional requirement specifications. • Delivered STARGAZER EPG on time and within budget for the BVS Market Trial VoD along with a version for Telecom Italia's VoD Field Technical Trial.• Defined and led the initiative to develop diagnostics for the Tele-TV Digital set-top box to qualify the vendors set-boxes and have the capability to validate the operational integrity of the digital set-top boxes in the field.
