As CTO & SVP BizDev, I am responsible for being the voice of the customer and understanding the key IT industry trends that affect product strategy and strategic alliances. John brings over 20 years of IT industry experience and has held a number of senior level sales, sales engineering and marketing positions at industry leaders such as Qlogic, McData, CNT and Borland. John was a double major in Economics and Sociology at the University of California at Santa Cruz.

As CTO, I was responsible for bringing Virtual Instruments technology vision to the market as well as being the voice of our customers in driving our product strategy. I am also responsible for keeping up with and understanding key IT industry trends that affect product strategy and strategic alliances. I am now taking over responsibility for driving our overall product strategy as well as leading our Technology Alliances and Business Development. Prior to Virtual Instruments, I gained 18 years of experience in Marketing, Product Marketing, Sales and Sales Engineering in the Open Systems and Storage ecosystem. I was a double major in Economics and Sociology at the University of California, Santa Cruz and first entered the technology field as a marketing intern for Borland International, where I had the honor of being the first Product Marketing Manager for their Java Compiler. Since then I have held various positions at mid-sized Systems Integrators, Start-up collocation and managed service providers, and established storage networking companies CNT, McData and QLogic.

In June of 2012 I transitioned to Vice President of Marketing and Alliances, where I worked to bring a technical bent and my deep knowledge of our customer base to the marketing organization, and build strategic relationships with our key technology and go to market partners.

I have been with Virtual Instruments since early 2009, where I started off by building and leading the WW Solutions Consulting team.

Responsible for all Go To Market activities related to the QLogic Infiniband portfolio of products.
