As database administrator, I maintain data infrastructure in support of both strategic and tactical applications used for Fairfax County Fire & Rescue operations. I provide site reliability for a 24-7 operational environment, including high availability databases and continuous support of real-time situational awareness applications.As a member of the Data Analytics Strategy Management division, I provide a wide range of support, including:(1) designing and implementing prototype solutions that use emerging AI and automation technology,(2) optimizing database queries and automation workflows to reduce resource overhead,(3) monitoring and securing data pipelines to ensure 100% compliance with HIPAA and other requirements,(4) collaborating with partners and stakeholders to design and implement better, faster solutions that benefit fire and rescue operations.

I lead the GIS Section of the Data Analytics Strategy Management (DASM) Division for the Fairfax County Fire & Rescue Department. My section provides a wide range of support to over 1,300 uniformed firefighters and emergency medical personnel. We develop solutions with GIS technology, including data management, data analysis and modeling, application development, and machine learning. I also coordinate with George Mason University students and faculty for collaborative research projects that benefit Fairfax County Fire & Rescue and the broader public safety community.In addition to my duties serving the citizens of Fairfax County, I am a member of the Information Management Working Group (IMWG) for the International Search and Rescue Advisory Group (INSARAG). In my role I provide technical support for the INSARAG Coordination Management System, which is a suite of applications used to form effective coordination of INSARAG search and rescue operations across the globe.

Project tasks included: (1) construction of an ArcGIS geodatabase for future student and faculty research projects, (2) development of a database directory of information for inexperienced users of geographic information systems technology, and (3) a 30-minute public presentation summarizing database content and its future applications. This project was funded by Northern Illinois University's Office of Student Engagement and Experiential Learning, which aims to develop undergraduates through professionally mentored research.
