I am a patient and empathetic Certified Health Education Specialist with outstanding active listening skills and extensive experience as a volunteer health worker, social activist, and youth advocate in the LGBTQ community, which inspired a return to university. My passion for public health and social justice stems from my volunteer health work experience with marginalized and vulnerable populations, such as people living with HIV/AIDS, LGBTQ youth, refugees, and formerly incarcerated people. I have a Community Health Worker certificate and have acquired certifications in vocational training and various health issues, such as employment specialist, person-centered thinking, infectious disease, sexual health, and diversity and social justice. I returned to school to earn my BS in Public Health Education, where I refined my awareness of cultural and personal biases, cultivated an unyielding passion for diversity and social justice, and initiated a lifelong duty to practice cultural humility.
