Resulted in units coordinating and executing multi-agency Search and Rescue Operations within 96 hours of devastation.► Deployed to Fort Macon, NC Forward Operating Base as the Communications Unit Leader following the devastation of Hurricane FLORENCE. Identified crucial power distribution and connectivity requirements to establish a robust enterprise network to restore telephony and internet services for mission essential operations. Provided a reliable information technology infrastructure for over two hundred personnel at seven commands executing search and rescue, port recovery, and Coast Guard facility reconstitution. Pioneered the first ever operation of Rescue 21 Communications systems within a Mobile Command Post due to the previous infrastructure being uninhabitable.► Directed $250,000 worth of contingency C4IT (Communications) assets during the historic response to Hurricanes Michael and Barry ensuring operational networks with backup capabilities to monitor Search and Rescue communications traffic.► Participated in varying multi agency exercises greatly enhancing the partnerships with federal, state, and local agencies. The S.O.P. supported over 70 enterprise information systems, assisting the unit in obtaining a passing score on the traditional security section of the Command Cyber Readiness Inspection (CCRI) and biennial district security inspection. ► Coordinated the disposal of a classified Maritime Awareness Network and it's associated classified inventory ensuring positive accountability and protecting Classified National Security Information.► Instrumental in the recovery of Rescue 21 (Search and Rescue Communications system) following super-storm Hurricane Sandy, facilitating the quick recovery of a critical life saving capability to the affected areas.► Developed superb key control policy with the establishment of two new buildings issuing keys to 300 employees for the new buildings ensuring key control accountability and protection of information.► Volunteered for Backpacks for Berkeley County, United Way Day of Caring, Positive Approach to Student Success (P.A.S.S.), local Veteran's Affairs program and hospice care.► Chaired the Morale, Wellness and Recreation program to ensure the Coast Guards birthday was successful to ensure the deployment of four large inflatables, two large tents, 15 canopies, 25 tables and 150 chairs. Monitored radio traffic for 2,000 miles of inland waterways and dispatched out various federal and private resources for Search and Rescue.Major accomplishments in this role include:► Responsible for organization and transition of decommissioning a unit and commissioning a new unit 200 miles away by ensuring radio coverage watches were manned 24/7 protecting all mariners over the 2,000 miles on the Mississippi, Illinois, and Missouri Rivers.► Coordinated case management and response on 80 Search and Rescue cases and 290 maritime incidents resulting in 29 lives assisted / saved. ► Coordinated response involving commercial tug boat that grounded and took on water with over 22,000 gallons of fuel on board and 7 crew members being unaccounted for. Initiated an immediate and effective response by surging local water patrol, pollution and industry resources to the scene, facilitating quick crew accountability and implementation of initial pollution response procedures, effectively minimizing the impact of the incident. ► Used a positive approach to effectively diagnose qualification and watch standing shortfalls after the standup of a unit, leading to the development and delivery of 37 new quick reference cards, as well as improved overall personnel competency and skill level during the qualification of 15 Command Center personnel.
