Data & Ai Consultant
Using the latest cloud and on-premises tools (AWS, Microsoft Azure, GCP, Tableau, Power BI), I lead data engineering, data analytics, and data visualization initiatives at Fortune 500 companies. I problem solve in all aspects of the product lifecycle: strategy and requirements gathering, end to end implementation, testing, and support, and manage global project teams to reach goals within cost and schedule constraints. I create marketing content on latest industry trends and technologies to expand the Thorogood brand recognition with existing and potential customers. I'm involved in the entire sales cycle, culminating in presenting sales proposals that have a direct impact on the growth of Thorogood.
Biomedical Engineer Iv
Working in support of the Advanced Development group I managed multiple medical device efforts in both the advanced development phase and those transitioning from research to the advanced development phase. I've also analyzed, planned, and adjusted work operations to meet program objectives and requirements within available funding, scheduling, and personnel resources. To progress projects I've conducted market research on a device's capability, availability, cost, and feasibility for field use, as well as, helped organize environmental and operational testing to evaluate medical devices.
Graduate Research Assistant
The goal of this thesis is to develop a volumetric display for portraying human body motions in real-time. The results of three-dimensional motion analyses are typically displayed on a two-dimensional video screen. A volumetric display would allow perception of the motion in three true dimensions and multiple observers could simultaneously view the same motion from different angles. Two different approaches to volumetric displays were explored, an LED display and a projected-light string display. The former is controlled by a microcontroller that is programmed to light a 3-D array of LEDs, and the latter involves projection of a two-dimensional image onto an array of vertical strings to create the three-dimensional image. Because it was less expensive to fabricate and easier to interface with the motion capture system, it was decided to move forward with the projected-light string display. Using a six camera Eagle Motion System, the coordinates of markers placed on human body segments were recorded and accessed in MATLAB in real-time. The marker data were used to calculate intersections between the body segments and the strings in the display. These intersections were represented as rectangles in a two-dimensional image projected onto the strings to create the three-dimensional image. Three applications were developed to demonstrate the capabilities of the display: (1) real-time posture assessment and training; (2) feedback of trunk lean angles during walking to lessen loads on painful joints; and (3) feedback of low back loads during a lifting task. Preliminary data collected during tests of these applications suggest that the use of the display conveys benefits to motor learning. To evaluate these effects more completely, further research is needed to compare the use of volumetric displays to other forms of feedback commonly used to enhance motor learning.
Research Assistant
Worked with a team of three other undergraduate students (two kinesiology majors, and one bioengineering major) to analyze the biomechanics of pitching in baseball. Using Cortex, a motion analysis computer program, we are able to transfer live motion to the computer with markers indicating specific points on the body.Once data has been collected it will be transferred into a muscular-skeletal model created by our lab director, Dr. Steven Piazza, where it will be easier to inspect the stresses and strains that are faced by pitchers.
Research Assistant
Synthesized planar lipid bilayers in a specially designed well plate to measure the conductance of the protein gramicidin-A using computer analysis. Also, helped the professors with the modeling of 3D Zernike descpritors to quantitatively describe the shape of the gramicidin-A protein in MATLAB. The descriptors were then used to create a 3D computer model of a the experiment.
Biomaterials Research And Development Intern
Working in the research and development department I conducted research to improve the current porcine dermis device. From research, I authored reports and organized data for submission to the FDA. In my short time there, I was given the opportunity to develop and conduct my own study for the porcine dermis. As an intern, I wanted to gain as much industry exposure as possible, so I worked with the commercialization team to package commercial grade devices in class 100,000 clean rooms to be sent out for testing. I also gained experience testing finished commercial product with quality control and organized animal study samples for future reports to alleviate the back log that had accumulated.
