Slice me open and I’m an entrepreneur to the heart. It’s who I am. I’ve been successful and enjoyed my life, but now I find the most satisfaction in seeing others succeed.I was fortunate enough to be born into an entrepreneurial family with parents and extended family all in business for themselves. From a young age with those role models in my life, the self-employed business owner lifestyle in New Zealand was all I knew, it was the ‘norm’. When I left school, I immediately started a business with two other friends, and my entrepreneurial dad helped us manage it. As the next few years rolled along, I tried different industries, sometimes working for a boss and sometimes myself…the only thing that felt right was being self-employed. For the next 30 years or so, I spent most of that time building a successful company with a couple of smaller businesses on the side. I sold my firm to a multi-national and took the opportunity to work in a corporate management role, facilitating the merger of the two companies. It added another layer of expertise to my portfolio and gave me a more complete perspective. I’m now happily self-employed again, this time building a coaching firm to help other business owners who for whatever reason have found themselves stuck in their growth cycle. I’ve had many business coaches over my business life, and have always realised the value of outside expertise. In fact, it’s been one of the main reasons for my success.I won’t ‘sell’ you a program, or communicate over lengthy emails, I won’t even ‘chat’ – your dilemma deserves far more than that.
