In this role I work to develop and implement programming to maximize opportunities for local and historically underserved residents and businesses on Gilbane’s construction projects.

The Leadership New York (LNY) program is a competitively-selected, rigorous 175+ hour experiential leadership development program for mid-career and early-executive professionals to develop the personal skills, civic knowledge and a multi-sector network to effectively lead change. Coro is NYC’s premier civic leadership training organization and a community of more than 2,500 alumni with a mission to develop NYC leaders so that all individuals, communities and institutions participate in creating an equitable, just and engaged society.

• Oversee ConstructNYC, a competitive program designed to accelerate the development of select minority and women-owned construction businesses through intense training and access to work on transformational projects across the city.• Manage data collection, analysis and interpretation to optimize program performance and drive compliance among stakeholders.• Produce comprehensive quarterly reports on M/W/DBE performance for distribution throughout the corporation, identifying roadblocks and recommendations for improvement. • Manage two loan funds that provide capital to small and medium construction-related businesses.Senior Program Manager | November 2011- July 2016• Developed deep understanding of the workings of NYC government, the mechanics of public-private partnerships and the technical components of the design and construction process.• Established procurement practices that resulted in a 20% increase in M/W/DBE contract awards since 2014.• Developed and implemented a corporate-wide application for tracking and analyzing vendor, contract and payment data.• Monitored portfolio of over 500 capital projects for real-time identification of threats to M/W/DBE goal attainment.

This project was borne out of a gathering of thought leaders in the community development, banking, and public sectors to confront the issue of a foreclosure crisis that leveled low-income and moderate-income communities across the U.S. My role included:• Co-authored white paper that presents a strong case for implementing recommendations, with a focus on how the political viability of these recommendations could be enhanced• Developed expertise on all issues related to the foreclosure crisis by canvassing universe of journal articles and research papers for relevant data, and conducting interviews with subject matter experts• Led discussions among thought leaders in the community development, housing, and banking industries to frame the foreclosure problem and its impact on low- and moderate-income communities• Managed consensus around recommendations that cover topics such as implementing principal reduction programs, refashioning homeownership strategy, and modifying the Community Reinvestment Act

Consulting Intern for a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) with over $200 million in assets that specializes in loans to nonprofits and unbanked and underbanked small businesses in low- and moderate-income communitiesMy duties included:• Executed industry analysis comparing SFS to over 120 CDFIs over a multi-year period; used this analysis to detect industry trends, highlight competitive strengths and weaknesses, and inform an overhaul in marketing strategy• Prepared 50-page feasibility study concerning the creation of a venture capital fund focused on small businesses in underserved communities• Analyzed research on current issues facing CDFIs to advise senior staff on which government policy recommendations to support
