In 1981 our family started Jasprint - initially we practiced Electronic Publishing - quite unique for the time. We were the pioneers in our field.As the years progressed, so did print, Electronic Publishing morphed in to Laser Printing and has now evolved in to what we know as Digital Print.Through over 40 years in the business we have gained an enormous amount of knowledge and experience in our field and we are happy to impart the benefit of our knowledge to our customers.Our Customer Service is second to none - we know and understand that the Customers' happiness is the most important aspect to our business - if our Customers are happy then we are happy!We specialise in highly personalised marketing print and mail but we also print everything from brochures and business cards to books and banners. Managing DirectorJasprint Jan 2008 - PresentWashington, Tyne And WearWhen my Dad took well earned retirement my rise through the business was complete as I took over the role of Managing Director.While still performing many of the functions that I'd done previously, I now had a lot more things to consider: finance, business strategy, marketing, sales and making sure we had enough coffee for the staff each week!I am still full of ideas but rather than them being for a logo or a menu layout they're now for new ways to market Jasprint or for new product ideas. I am passionate about providing a great service allied with an excellent customer experience and to this end I am very proud of the #JasService concept we have recently introduced.I also get great satisfaction from running a happy team and strive to keep them motivated, engaged and involved.

Production ManagerJasprint Oct 1999 - Dec 2007My nepotistic rise through the family business continued when I became production manager. This role involved many things other than simply scheduling orders and I became more and more involved with dealing directly with customers both over the phone and in person, enhancing my people skills.I also started preparing estimates and doing quotes for many of the enquiries we received. My solid grounding on the factory floor was invaluable for this as I understood exactly what was needed to get a job from the artwork stage through to delivery.

Graphic DesignerJasprint Apr 1996 - Oct 1999My Jasprint education continued into the design Studio where I spent a very enjoyable time creating artwork for many things from stationery to leaflets and even preparing the layout of books.While in this role I discovered that I had a creative flair for ideas. I also learned a great deal about how documents need to be set up for printing and whether or not things can be easily translated from the screen into print.

Digital Print OperatorJasprint Sep 1988 - Apr 1996Having sworn never to enter the family business the lure of money eventually proved too much for me! I started by learning the basics on the shop floor and while my main role was as an operator of the digital print presses I also got involved with all other aspects of production including binding, print finishing, darkroom work, plate making and job imposition. And making cups of tea.
