In this role I led a multidisciplinary Pre-sales Solution Engineering team, covering VMware’s entire service and solution portfolio, helping to drive the high velocity digital business for VMware in EMEA. In collaboration with a global network of Digital Pre-sales teams, I have helped co-lead the establishment of a new globally consistent, service oriented approach to highly scalable and agile delivery of Pre-sales services remotely. The scope of this ongoing effort is broad, comprising service catalog development, the design & development of purpose-build tools and processes for service management, and a talent framework that blends the best next-gen and experienced talent to execute the right service, at the right time, with the right skills. The goal is to deliver a best in class Pre-sales experience for customers and partners for our SaaS and Subscription offerings, in the most efficient and sustainable way possible.My passions for innovation, sustainability and people development extend to leadership responsibilities not only in our EMEA Digital business, but across a variety of projects, sites and functions within in VMware, and with the wider tech community.

Emea

This scope of this role was to unify VMware’s various EMEA Internal Pre-sales teams under a new Digital Solutions Engineering functional umbrella in line with the establishment of a new Digital Sales Centre (DSC) in EMEA. This involved the building of new teams across a number of technical disciplines with diverse stakeholders. Projects included recruitment and relocation of top talent, consolidation and transfer of existing processes, tools, best practices and programs, and establishment of new operational and business processes to support the key objectives of the new DSC:1 Driving new business with SaaS and Subscription offerings 2. Developing the next generation of VMware EMEA talent 3. Scaling VMware’s high velocity business in EMEA.

As the technical track lead of the EMEA VMware Academy, I led design, development, delivery and day-to-day co-ordination of a presales graduate program. This program was tasked with finding and developing top graduate talent to build the next generation of VMware systems engineers in EMEA. The program covered the full development cycle, from onboarding and team integration, skills development and on-the-job learning, business ownership and progression to long term roles in Digital and Field SE. The track also shared elements with professional services and sales programs.
