After 20 years of corporate telecom experience and co-founding two successful entrepreneurial ventures, John has now launched a first-of-its-kind technical training center for middle, high schoolers and techies of all ages focused on teaching 21st century skills. Courses include computer programming, robotics, electronics, game design and digital media.Most of John's corporate experience revolved around Marketing and Product Management and the introduction of new technologies, including Voice over IP (VoIP), HDTV, Digital Video Recorders and any number of related technologies including UC, and early IP and VPN enterprise services. Co-Founders, John and Jeffrey Pearl, formed IP5280 Communications in January 2006 - ultimately became one of the fastest growing Internet Telephony Provider in the US, along with becoming an Inc500 company in 2010 and 2011. IP5280 was acquired by MegaPath Inc in January 2012.Prior to forming IP5280, John served as CMO for LineSider Communications, acquired by Cisco in 2010. Before joining LineSider, he was the SVP of Marketing and HR at EchoStar Communications, where he was responsible for the marketing, corporate advertising and public relations of its DISH Network division. He was most notably responsible for executing DISH's charge against Cable in the competitive pay TV industry, winning 2 Telly awards for the ground breaking "Cable Pig"​ campaign, fueling record subscriber growth. Prior to EchoStar, Mr. Scarborough served as VP of Marketing at Qwest, where he was responsible for corporate advertising, sales communications for the Business, Consumer, Wholesale, and Wireless divisions. Scarborough’s experience also includes 13 years with MCI where he pioneered MCI's Internet Business during the emergence of the Internet and was responsible for the sale of its Internet business to Cable & Wireless Plc. for $1.75 Billion.
