John Carr is an entrepreneur, executive and chemical engineer with experience in executive, commercial and technical roles in the mining and water industries. Graduating from Melbourne University with honours in Chemical Engineering, John also completed a Masters in Business Administration.John co-founded Future Element in 2023, which offers a sustainable alternative to traditional mining and rehabilitation. Leveraging core competencies in mineral processing and leading technology, Future Element focuses on developing commercial operations globally that progressively rehabilitate tailings, treat and recycle water, and extract remnant value.In 2017, John was co-founder of New Century Resources, which acquired the Century Zinc Mine in Queensland, Australia. As Chief Development Officer, John was responsible for the development of the re-start and expansion at Century, now a top-15 global zinc producer and Australia's largest tailings reprocessing project. John also led the acquisition of the Mt Lyell Copper Mine from Vedanta Resources. In 2023, New Century was acquired by multinational PGM and gold producer, Sibanye Stillwater Ltd.In 2009, John co-founded Raging Bull Group, an innovative organisation dedicated to the acquisition and sustainable rehabilitation of historic mine sites, prioritising the economic extraction of remnant mineralisation. Raging Bull Group has managed interests in several mining and water treatment assets since inception. John has significant industry experience in development, technology, operations and M&A through roles at Future Metals, Rio Tinto, Sunrise Energy Metals and Clean TeQ.
