John Scheib is a Principal and Member of Northeast Collaborative Architects, becoming a leading practitioner of Architecture over his 30 years’ experience in the region. He has both strong design and management skills. Practice areas like K-12 schools and higher education have thrived with award-winning projects that highlight both the quality of 21st Century learning environments created, and the level of sustainability achieved. K-12 projects, many that have transformed outdated school facilities into like-new buildings, and specifically those serving Career & Technical Education (CTE) programs, have set benchmarks for learning environment sustainability, with the J.M Wright Technical High School becoming the first technical high school in Connecticut to receive LEED Certification. The firm’s higher education projects have included leading-edge work for institutions dedicated to the delivery of diverse learning approaches, like remote on-line colleges and hands-on advanced manufacturing technology.To enhance the profession and the broader community, John has been an active member of the AIA and the Association for Learning Environments (A4LE). He has presented at AIA Committee for Architecture in Education and A4LE International conferences. Perhaps most rewarding to John has been the time he has dedicated to promoting the development of the next generation of the design and construction industry, through the ACE Mentor Program, providing career direction to the high school students in the fields of Architecture, Construction and Engineering.
