Profile bio

About John Schmidt, Pmp

I grew up in a rural community in central Wisconsin. My parents demonstrated a strong work ethic that showed me that you get what you earn. They showed me accountability, and I always strove to do things in a way that would bring honor to me and to them. The lessons I learned from them influenced how I conducted myself throughout my education, athletics, and work. I was and still am a competitive person. I was driven to win and to do so at a high standard.I am an experienced leader in project management, product development, and continuous improvement with a proven record of improving finances and productivity in the industrial equipment industry. Skilled at leading and developing teams of success-focused individuals to achieve project goals and improve efficiency. Seeking a project management position with a dynamic, growing organization.I started out my career as a Development Engineer on industrial electric motors. I didn’t realize it at the time, but the new products I was developing and launching into production was the beginning of my journey in project management and continuous improvement that would lead to bigger opportunities and responsibilities. I learned early that my being a successful project leader depended on getting good information from all areas of the business and using that information to create and execute a solid plan. This earned me the respect of individuals from shop floor fabricators to upper management, as they knew I would do the right things for the business. This trust led me to leading projects of larger scope and impact with exposure to the executive level. Outside of work life I have a number of interests that keep me busy. My personal passions are World War II history and airplanes. For this reason, attending EAA Airventure in Oshkosh is a must each July! I volunteer as time allows. I feel that giving back through my talents is fulfilling and allows me to give blessings back for all of the blessings I’ve received. My family is a top priority, so I spend a lot of time supporting extra-curricular activities. Fortunately, those have grown to include downhill skiing and the high jump, which I have done since I was young. When extracurriculars die down during summer months, it’s time to head to the lake and spend quality time in and on the water!John Schmidt715-218-5948jeschmidt610@gmail.com
