I began my career in sales where I spent over 10 years in inside and outside roles, selling for industry giants: Grainger, Mobile Mini Solutions, and Intuit. During this time, I honed vital soft skills such as communication, collaboration, critical thinking, relationship-building, and resilience. I also focused on developing strengths in negotiation, persuasion, prospecting, sales process and time management. I maintained my performance as my ‘true north’ and my history of achieving/exceeding quota speaks for itself.Post-MBA, I worked with our teams' dedicated Sales Knowledge Specialist on side projects at Intuit. From this experience, I decided to pivot into Knowledge Management (KM). I began online training in my spare time and quickly learned core principles. Shortly after being affected by Covid layoffs, I was scouted by Out of the Box Technology (OOTBT) and became their first Sales Knowledge Manager.At OOTBT, I established the KM department and scope of responsibilities. At first, the initiative sought to increase Sales KPIs. After consistently exceeding sales growth metrics, the KM department developed a hub for Accounting & Project Services (A&PS), the service delivery business arm. This initiative sought to empower A&PS staff to operate at maximum efficacy. The KM department later realigned its strategy with a traditional approach to encompass 'everything OOTBT.’ While continuing to hone the sales and A&PS side of the Knowledge Database (KD), I also developed Hubs in the KD for other departments: Accounting, Finance, HR, Legal, Marketing and Operations.When the opportunity to learn KM at scale arose, I couldn’t pass it up. I joined Motive as their first US-based Senior KM Specialist and gained valuable Knowledge and Project Management experience. Notably, I learned how to construct and manage complex projects, develop and improve operational processes, produce KM articles and technical documentation, and train AI bots to retrieve relevant resources on demand.In December of 2022 I was again affected by Covid-related layoffs. Shortly after, my spouse was afflicted by serious illness, prompting me to halt my job search and step into a caregiver role. Over the next 22 months, my spouse fought her way back to health and was able to return to work.
