John is focused on helping clients find value with OpenSpace. John ensures the clients are successful with technology adoption by taking the time to understand the individual goals, needs, and current company workflows. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, knowing the product inside and out to be able to answer customers' questions; documentation of customer success actions and best practices; onboarding new customers and training them on the mobile and desktop applications; and most importantly having the ability to understand customers needs so John can help educate the customers on how they can best utilize OpenSpace for their business and project needs.

Virtual Inspection Pilot Program - Implementation of 360° image documentation platform on multiple projects nationwide for GSA. Coordinated and ensured the initial setup of new projects, lead training for all new users and created educational training material. Ongoing support for users and documentation of implementation successes and challenges. Tested and implemented integrations between multiple software platforms to reduce data input duplication and improve historical documentation backup capabilities. Ongoing research into new building and construction technologies to be knowledgeable of all possible solutions for each individual project. Joint research with Virginia Tech to analyze and document the feasibility of using legged robotics like Boston Dynamic's Spot for construction site progress documentation. Further work includes, implementation of photogrammetry with drones to capture and illustrate site conditions and progress. Innovative new workflows for "scan to plan" to lower costs of your typical laser scan project. Development of internal tracking databases using for increased company base knowledge, programmed using VBA. 3D modeling and reviews focused in Revit.

Amazon Web Services Office Building Fit Out (Herndon, VA): Project Manager/ onsite representative. Provided scheduling and progress documentation services during an interior fit out of a 268,240-square-foot, office building. Started scheduling services with pre-construction pull planning meetings to develop a baseline schedule. Continued the project with weekly schedule updates and site visit reports. Implemented 360° picture technology to document the progress throughout the construction phase and to increase visibility for stakeholders who are not physically onsite. Thurgood Marshall Federal Judiciary Building - Facade Repair Program Phase 01 (Washington, DC): Construction management support for the Architect of the Capitol during the initial façade replacement project at the Thurgood Marshall Federal Judiciary Building in Washington, DC. Coordinated inspections to ensure proper installation of work and documented contractors progress.

The Village at Goose Creek - Ashburn, VA: New development comprised of three mixed used midrise, wood framed on concrete podium structures, totaling 232 total apartments with amenity and retail spaces below. Value $40 Million. Completion: Summer 2019So Others Might Eat (SOME) - Washington, DC: New concrete construction of 320,000 square foot green building including training and office spaces, 30 family sized affordable housing units, 172 single bedroom affordable housing units and retail space. Features multiple green roofs, underground garage, and an extensive atrium. Value: $60 Million. Completion: Winter 2017

Metroplace at Town Center - Camp Springs, MD: Phased renovation of 397 apartment units in 8 separate 4-story wood-framed buildings. Scope of work includes all new interior finishes throughout the living areas, kitchens, and baths, and replacement of the exterior masonry, siding and windows. Project value:$28 Million. Completion: Spring 2016.

Field Engineer - Project Management 1800 K Street - Washington, DC: Renovation of an 11 story building including demolition and installation of a new curtainwall, partial interior demolition, and a new roof top terrace all while partially occupied by tenants. Managed communication and payment of the structural steel, electrical, structural concrete, ornamental metals, and the LED sign band subcontractors. Israel Baptist Church - Washington, DC: 42,000 sq. ft. addition to existing church including an indoor multiuse gym and two floors for medical offices. • Organized and conducted meetings with owners, designers, and subcontractors to discuss safety practices and progress of critical path work• Reviewed change orders by creating takeoffs and estimates then comparing against subcontractor’s proposals • Facilitated and logged communication and direction of submittals and RFIs between the subcontractors and owner team • Promoted a safe work environment by monitoring the site for unsafe work habits Field Engineer - Purchasing / Estimating 8th Street Storage – New 3 floor self-storage facility featuring a green roof. Bid lead for roofing, fireproofing, site concrete, fencing, millwork, paint, bathroom partitions and accessories Park Lane Tavern – Interior fit-out of European style tavern.
