John Foster helps companies innovate.Previously he was Strategy Director for Telefónica's global data unit (CDO), focused on using data insights and cognitive intelligence (AI) to support Telefónica's 350 million customers across 21 countries. After joining Telefónica in 2008, he led Strategy & Transformation for O2 UK, then Telefónica Europe, and finally at a global level within Telefónica Digital and the CDO areas.Earlier in his career he was Business Development Director for Tesco.com, leading the redesign of their website, expansion into new categories, and the strategic plan process.As a Partner in a strategy consultancy (Mercer / Oliver Wyman) he optimised pricing, promotions, and product strategies for retailers through controlled experiments and data science. Other projects included Telecoms, Retail banking, Fund management, Rail Freight, Reinsurance, Consumer Electronics and Automotive clients.John has spoken at OECD, European Commission, and Politico events, plus keynote and panel sessions at multiple Telecoms industry and Analyst conferences.He has a Master's degree in Engineering and a Master's in Manufacturing & Management (MET) both from Cambridge University.
