Supporting strategic corporate initiatives including program management, ISO 9001:2015, and business development. Temporarily took over the KES Gig Harbor, WA office when the Director of the facility transitioned into retirement and successfully led all associated programs while also searching for/hiring the permanent replacement. Performed a deep dive into KES' largest contract to identify and resolve root cause issues. In conjunction with the CEO and VP of Technical Operations, I rebuilt the KES business development processes to move from a small business approach to enable success as a large business. Overall responsibility for all corporate growth activities while ensuring corporate infrastructure (personnel, facilities, etc.) align with and support planned growth.

Studied for and obtained the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from Project Management Institute (PMI) by passing the exam with flying colors on the first try. Learned Swift and Objective-C programming and developed an iOS app.

General Manager leading the San Diego office for Atlas with direct responsibility for all associated programs. Responsible for full life-cycle project management, client relationship management, personnel recruitment and development, corporate planning and strategy, and business development from identification through project startup. Managed 3 programs and 220+ projects in an extremely fast-paced, high-visibility environment directly supporting US Navy ships while maintaining exceptional quality and customer satisfaction levels. Hands-on process improvement/optimization leader for the corporate ISO 9001 certification. 50% of this team was remote (East Coast based) and work was performed globally. Key driver in the achievement of ISO 9001:2008 certification within 6 months of project initiation. Successfully moved the San Diego facility over a weekend with no interruption to team members.

Member of the senior leadership team for the $100M+/year Navy effort to consolidate 60+ Navy Data Centers around the world into 3 Cloud/Enterprise Data Centers for SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS. Effort included analysis of IT systems in legacy environment, architect/design/buildout of new data center, transition of systems from legacy site to new data center, and sustainment in the new data center in a virtualized environment using VMWare. Leader in setting up the Program Office and PMO including all business processes. Provided leadership for the 200+ member matrixed global team. Recommended 4 innovative management techniques which saved 6 months of schedule time and more than $10M in the first year alone. Rapidly became the “go-to-guy” for solving complex management and technical issues. Primary developer of briefings/presentations for senior level officials especially in the areas of risk mitigation, change management, dependency and milestone tracking, and project status including forecasting. Implemented innovative tracking/monitoring techniques which provides concise program oversight for global consolidation activities for 20+ sites (150+ systems) each year.

Maintained the site ISO 9001 certification and drove the process for achieving CMMI certification across the division. Program Manager and chief architect for enterprise scale SaaS system for US Navy utilizing the LAMP platform and Agile software development techniques. Simultaneously managed multiple enterprise-wide Navy IT programs. Defined, developed, negotiated and executed all contract actions with vendors.

Managed and lead the Advanced Information Technologies Division for this major DoD contractor. Responsible for proactively managing all activities associated with the execution of multiple software development programs using OOA/OOD with Java, XML, C++, C#, .NET, J2EE, IIS, ASP, Oracle, and PL/SQL. Program Manager on the enterprise-wide Oracle-based Service Data Manager project with a global, matrixed team for Rolls-Royce. Lead the design and development of early, highly advanced distributed collaboration technologies and artificial intelligence systems. This included the research and development of new desktop 3-D technologies as well as researching innovative collaboration and document sharing techniques built on a LAMP platform. All programs were developed using rapid prototyping/Agile methodologies. Defined, developed, negotiated and executed all contract actions with vendors.

Analysis, design, and development for SIGINT, ISR, and SATCOM programs as well as the PACAF Personnel Database. IT Manager for PACAF Intel network including providing systems/network admin for sites throughout the Pacific theater.

San Francisco Bay Area

Analysis, design, and development for several Artificial Intelligence (machine learning and natural language processing) projects on US Air Force projects. Quickly became lead engineer on one artificial intelligence-based program for Rome Labs.
