Serving as a presidential appointee, Associate Administrator of Government Contracting and Business Development at the Small Business Administration. My team supports thousands of small businesses every year as they compete for over $500 billion in federal prime and sub-contracts. Responsible for overseeing the umbrella office with jurisdiction over the Agency’s offices of Size Standards, HUBZone, Government Contracting, and Business Development/8(a). Work with all federal agencies, the Office of Federal Procurement Policy and the White House on meeting the federal government's statutory responsibility to award at least 23% of all federal contracts to small businesses. Specific accomplishments include:• Representing the Administration before Congress on small business procurement programs.• Working with the White House, OFPP and Senior Administration officials in crafting best practices for accomplishing small business procurement goals.• Overseeing the negotiation of small business procurement goals for all federal agencies.• Responsible for implementing the Small Business procurement provisions of the Small Business Jobs Act and the National Defense Authorization Act of 2013; including new rules, requirements, processes and procedures.• Developing strategic plans; managing programs, staff and interagency/corporate relationships to effectively represent Administration priorities. • Overseeing budget process and financial management. Including formulation, execution, expenditure tracking, analysis, & reporting. Managing funding lines in excess of $30 million in support of 200 staff located across the country.• Representing the SBA at White House events and in Congressional affairs. Speaking nationally on behalf of the SBA in conferences, seminars, and marketing activities.• Promoting the SBA in media and in national forums. Serving as SBA liaison to domestic and international corporate partners and stakeholders.
