Responsible for planning, scheduling, coordinating, and the management of releases. Manage incremental delivery of product releases through a Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipeline using Agile software development methods, free and open-source software, and Amazon Web Services’ (AWS) cloud infrastructure and tools.

John played a key role in the Child Welfare Services-California Automated Response and Engagement System (CWS-CARES) Project, where he contributed to both release management and enterprise architecture. He facilitated numerous production code releases and infrastructure updates, while also focusing on the development and implementation of Enterprise Architecture (EA) roadmap components. He successfully implemented and managed multiple releases using the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) Agile Release Train process.

John managed system integration efforts for the CalHEERS Project with external partners. He developed and maintained the system integration project plan, tracked milestones, facilitated JAD sessions, and participated in system interface testing.

John managed the system and software development life cycle for the Unemployment Insurance Modernization (UIMOD) project. He defined project requirements, managed development life-cycle processes, facilitated JAD sessions, and managed the project schedule.

As part of the PMO, John provided project management support across multiple enterprise-wide projects. He defined PMO service offerings, developed project schedule standards and guidelines, and coached State staff on project management tools and best practices.

John managed the development of over 40 system interfaces for the CalPERS Contribution Reporting System, including project artifacts like schedules, status reports, design documents, and test plans.
