John Scott Lucas is an innovative, results-oriented leader with twenty years of executive experience in international higher education and non-profit sectors. He currently serves as President and CEO of ISEP Study Abroad, overseeing a global network of 350+ institutions in over 60 countries. John has a proven track record in strategic planning, budget management, and curriculum design. Fluent in four languages, he has held various significant roles, including Executive Vice President and Provost at the School for International Training, and Associate Vice President at IES Abroad. He also teaches at Georgetown University.John holds a Ph.D. and M.A. in Spanish Linguistics from Pennsylvania State University, a Master's in International and Intercultural Management from the School for International Training, and a B.A. in Spanish, Linguistics, and French from Central College. His published works cover a range of topics, including mental health in study abroad, Catalan language, and managing health and safety for mobile students. John’s expertise and leadership have been pivotal in fostering growth, diversity, and innovation in the organizations he has led.
