  • Columbia University In The City Of New York
Biomedical And Electrical Engineering Research Intern | Columbia University
Columbia University In The City Of New York Apr 2021 - Jul 2021
Went through the rigorous training program (helped build a strong foundation of life science research skills) that included the fundamentals of experimental design, lab safety, advanced biology, python programming, and health inequalities caused by societal factors.
  • Biomimicry Institute
    Biomimicry Youth Design Challenge Competitor
    Biomimicry Institute Jan 2021 - Apr 2021
My team designed the "Sorbeo” (means to absorb in Latin) to minimize the damage done to human infrastructure caused by flooding through a self-inflating floodgate that prevents floods. The design incorporates the utilization of turgor pressure inspired by the folding leaves of the Mimosa pudica. A double layered fish scale is applied on the exterior of the inflatable to yield maximum penetration protection. There is an implementation of a rigid back wall that provides structural support to the floodgate. This wall is inspired by the hexagonal shape of honeycombs.
  • Columbia University In The City Of New York
Biomedical Engineering Intern | Columbia University
Columbia University In The City Of New York Jul 2020 - Aug 2020
    New York, United States
Explored the Engineering Design Process and utilize those fundamentals to create solutions to modern-day biomedical problems. Designed a water cooling suit that is composed of series of tubing in order to maintain the core temperature at a safe level for firefighters in order to prevent firefighters from suffering from heat related illnesses.
