JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Collecting Blood specimens and Urine specimens for Pilots and commander Lieutenant Colonel and Military officers and Aircrews and running Annual package test like Complete blood count, Blood Grouping and Rh Typing, Glucose, cholesterol, Triglycerides, HDL Cholesterol, LDL Cholesterol, Total bilirubin, Direct Bilirubin, AST, ALT, Alkaline Phosphatase, Total Protein, Albumin, Globulin, Calcium, Phosphorus, Uric Acid Sickling Test, G6PD, Urine Routine Analysis.  Collecting specimens for Special Tests like, blood Alcohol, Urine Drug, Hormonal Assay, Culture and sensitivity Test and transporting the specimens to Zayed Military Hospital in a Suitable condition. LAB PROCEDURES: Performs a variety of technical laboratory procedures according to Medical Center, laboratory and national standards to obtain patient specimens using to ensure specimen quality used to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of disease.  QUALITY CONTROL/QUALITY IMPROVEMENT: Participates in QC/QI for area of specialty and Lab indicators. Does not report patient results unless quality control data are within accepted parameters. Recognizes out of control values, takes corrective action, and notifies others of changes.  PROBLEM SOLVING/CRITICAL THINKING: Assumes responsibility to resolve problems. Performs required preventative maintenance procedures in laboratory instrumentation. Investigates and resolves technical problems, consults supervisor if resolution involves policy or procedure modification. Identifies real or potential situations or equipment failure, attempts to resolve within area of specialty or knowledge and refers complex issues to appropriate source.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Receiving various samples like Urine, Pus ,Throat Swab, Ear Swab, High Vaginal Swab, Blood, Sputum, Hair, Nail, Skin Swab for performing Culture and sensitivity test, Streaking the specimens in the suitable medium and incubate in the appropriate condition and isolation of pathogenic organism and confirming by various biochemical and serological tests then preparing the isolate for antibiotic susceptibility testing and reporting the critical organisms like MRSA(Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus) ESBL (Extended spectrum Beta lactamase) producing Enterobacteriaceae organisms to the doctors and the Health Authority  Preparing the Antibiogram and reporting to the Infection Control Officer. Running various serological Tests Like Widal, CRP,ASO,RA FACTOR and also running immunological test in the kit like Streptococcus A, Respiratory syncytial Virus, Influenza A and B Running LPCB (Lacto phenol cotton blue) test and KoH preparation for identifying Fungus in Hair, Nail and skin specimens In the High Vaginal Swab identification of Mycoplasma Organisms and finding their susceptibility. In the Blood Culture, Fungus Culture, Anaerobic culture doing Subculture technique and monitoring the growth of pathogens. Receiving Sputum Specimen and performing AFB stain and Observe for Mycobacterium Tuberculosis. Running Quality Control for the Bacterial Medium, biochemical and serological Test  Degradation Microorganism in the Used Media by Autoclaving with the Quality control Check. Contributes to a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, physicians and co-workers by following established standards and procedures; complying with HAAD regulations. Maintains patient confidence by keeping laboratory information confidential. Serves and protects the hospital community by adhering to professional standards, hospital policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements.
