Project Engineering for large custom industrial water filtration and process equipment. Reviewed project contract documents. Reviewed, revised and created P&ID’s, PFD’s, project specifications, and equipment lists. Coordinated and reviewed the mechanical design of industrial water process equipment by designers. Reviewed and controlled shop fabrication drawing packages. Performed the following types of calculations: ASME piping code, seismic code, B&PV code, hydraulic, mass balance, chemical balance, chemical requirements, tank sizing, pipe sizing, heat addition, flow, and control valve sizing, etc. Prevented, prepared for and assisted designers with design hurdles. Researched, sized and specified various industrial equipment, valves, motors, pumps, filters, tanks, and process instruments. Performed process design calculations. Designed high-end, state of the art, industry leading, special purpose, military and consumer flashlights, weapon lights and accessories using Pro/E Wildfire and AutoCAD. Performed design work from product conception to first article using knowledge of machine operations and plastic injection-molding. Created part and assembly drawings, bills of material, and engineering change orders. Performed tolerance studies. Researched and solved assembly, performance and quality issues. Designed the first version of a new product line of military helmet lights (HL1). Products were mostly made of 6020 aluminum, rubber, PC boards, and plastic injection molded parts.
