In this national leadership role, I oversaw the Marketing and Development departments, leading a talented team to exceed annual fundraising goals and successfully revamp the marketing department. On the new Gateway Dallas campus I have the privilege to a oversee group of ministries and campus functions. They are Pastoral Care, which includes Freedom, Stewardship, Compassion Care and Relational Care. I also oversee the Dallas expressions of Outreach/ Global Outreach, Equipping classes, Dallas Media, the Events team and Facilities and Maintenance.

Gunnar Johnson was the Executive Pastor of Financial Stewardship at Gateway Church for 10 years. Prior to coming to Gateway, he was an entrepreneur who established and owned two different businesses. In 1998, Gunnar found himself struggling financially having accumulated a pile of personal consumer debt. At this crucial time in his life, Gunnar became involved in a small group bible study on money. As the study progressed, he made a commitment to become the best steward of God’s money, influence and opportunities that he could be. God blessed that life-changing decision and, with His help, Gunnar was able to begin a new, debt-free business that allowed him to pay off his debts and eventually serve God in full-time local church ministry. Gunnar has a strong desire to build a comprehensive stewardship ministry that serves every person—from those who are struggling financially to those who have an abundant surplus. His heart is to see people walk in financial freedom and live out the life God created them for in Christ.
