Data lead on the Casework Team for Shrewsbury Constituency’s Labour Party candidate, and subsequent MP, both prior and during the 2024 General Election with wider duties in the campaign: described as “instrumental” in the victory, data entry/processing tasks were completed at pace without error, working between multiple data sources,Main duties include:• Processing of voter data from Labour’s ‘Contact Creator’ and ‘Pathways’ databases to produce mailing lists for targeted letters: validating the data by comparing voting intention counts against polling projections, and reconciling lists by removing previous recipients.• High volume data entry: running Contact Creator queries to identify voters and subsequently extract their information into the Casework Team’s spreadsheet; logging new cases and previous-case updates in the spreadsheet, including summaries each constituent’s issues and requirements; inputting voter data into contact creator that has been acquired in Casework; marking voters as ‘letter sent’ in Pathways.• Undertaking email responses for pledge requests.Other activities include:• Weekly board running using the Doorstep app, co-leading canvassing sessions by managing the ‘door-knocking’ of a group of volunteers.• Co-running a Campaign Centre on Polling Day, assigning and briefing teams of volunteers to complete knock-ups or telling duties, as well as undertaking high-volume data entry of polling-IDs.• Researching to exhaustively identify and compare bulk SMS services by collecting key data points.• Triaging emails in the junk mailbox folder, sorting emails into folders.• Separating Pathways voters into spreadsheets by ward through the joining of Pathways data with Contact Creator data.

Funded PhD studentship: ‘In-situ TEM Observations of Atomic Scale Dynamics at Solid-Liquid Interfaces’ (Oct 2018 – Apr 2019); topological analysis of crystalline electronic band structures in intermetallic solids (Apr 2019 – Apr 2021). Project changed due to departmental requirements.Formulated hypotheses and undertook novel mathematical/computational methods to enable the discovery of new topological materials; completed complex calculations; compiled and tested bespoke software; produced Python/Bash scripts; and collaborated on scientific papers.

Assisted students with mathematical physics and computing problems in workshops of up to 120 persons for 4 hours a week, coordinating with other teaching assistants. Prepared model solutions ahead of class to ensure that students obtained complete understanding from their tuition. Performed In and out of class marking when workshops were assessed.

Undertook frequent on-call night-duties as the first responder to deal with noise complaints and emergencies in a university hall of residence of 270 multi-ethnicity students. Provided pastoral care, basic welfare advice, and signposting to support services.

Provided guidance to the HSC for compliance with University of Liverpool’s procedures and protocols, supported with the running of events, and ensured the completeness of committee meetings. The intermediary between the committee and Hall’s accommodation management by face-to-face conversations, email, and meetings. Formed the committee at the beginning of each academic year.

Coordinated the HSC as president, elected by residents. Awarded the HSC of the Year Guild Award for creating a “welcoming and inclusive halls environment” with “a real sense of community”.Lead the committee to organise a diverse range of activities that included seasonal parties, quizzes, movie nights, cinema trips, and games tournaments – purchased new items for the Hall's communal areas and sourced consumable items for events, all within an allocated budget. Risk assessments, promotional material, and canvassing for events were undertaken in accordance with University of Liverpool’s reporting requirements through reports and feedback mechanisms.

Customer facing, order taking requiring politeness and courtesy - sometimes with demanding and difficult customers. Described as “an asset on shift”, customer enquiries and complaints were dealt with utmost professionalism. Tidy and organised work approach in accordance with strict hygiene and food handling requirements. Actively maintained cleanliness throughout the restaurant.
