Operations management professional adept at untying logistical knots and thrive when working with others to find solutions for intractable issues. My goal is to work with policy makers, planners and managers to help span the gap and find ways to bring the “common” citizen to the table to develop sustainable policy towards equity and community development. I have many years of City and County level committee work in emergency management and hazard mitigation. Academic interests include: social policy, urban development, resilience theory, social patterns, place making and the spaces where policy and humanity intersect. My guiding focus is the perceived experience, how public perception is influenced by policy, how policy is influenced by public input and how policy makers consider the outcome of policy in the context of the public. In all of this, I am looking at how poorly considered policy can be not just ineffective, but destructive by ignoring the context of those who are most affected and how those negatives translate into cycles of degradation throughout the system. I am looking for ways to bridge those inequities.My professional interests include public policy, project coordination, workforce development, facilities operations, disaster preparedness, community resilience, mitigation, response and recovery management.
