John Stewart is an experienced CEO and company director, skilled in the management and operations of companies of all sizes and across a wide range of industries. He is an expert in the management of cash and cashflow forecasting.He has an ability to foster collegiate, efficient and effective decision-making in both management teams and around a boardroom table. He has excellent communication skills, strong financial and accounting skills and deeply understands profitability and cash flow. He has run large sales team and successfully grown sales in challenging circumstances.He is a Chartered Accountant by profession but has spent much of the last 20 years as the Managing Director or CEO of companies he has had an equity stake in, often leading a turnaround or a significant increase in performance. In his last role as the MD of SEMA Holdings, John brought the company out of Voluntary Administration in 2012 before successfully selling the company to IVE Group Limited in September 2017. He is now advising and assisting businesses in the early stages of their development or who are experiencing trading difficulties and on the lookout for his next equity project. Previous roles have included the MD of BDS Vircon, MD of Recruitment Solutions Limited and CEO of Ferrier Hodgson NSW. For 10 years until January 2009 he was a Director of MYOB Limited having joined prior to the initial public offering.He is the immediate Past President of UNICEF in Australia. Other pro-bono roles have included Chairman of the NSW Branch of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and Treasurer of the South Eastern Area Health Service.
