John brought his passion for architecture and design to POWE Architects in 2003 and assumed responsibilities for a wide variety of projects and roles. John was been involved in the design and documentation of projects such as Milton Edge; an $18 million, ten storey, high rise apartment project at Milton in Brisbane; the $15 million, 3 Mobile landmark commercial development at 601 Coronation Drive, Toowong and a prestige executive residence on the Esplanade at St Lucia. All three projects were… Show more John brought his passion for architecture and design to POWE Architects in 2003 and assumed responsibilities for a wide variety of projects and roles. John was been involved in the design and documentation of projects such as Milton Edge; an $18 million, ten storey, high rise apartment project at Milton in Brisbane; the $15 million, 3 Mobile landmark commercial development at 601 Coronation Drive, Toowong and a prestige executive residence on the Esplanade at St Lucia. All three projects were nominated in the RAIA Queensland Architecture awards. John’s other major project responsibilities included Queensland’s first Coles Superstore in Ipswich and the transit oriented, mixed use Alderley Square development. Construction of the $20Milion 6000m2 Coles Superstore that opened in late 2012 replaving their building submerged during the 2011 flood disaster. The $100Million Alderley Square project included 234 apartments, 6,700m2 of specialty retail, 2,800m2 of commercial tenancies and over 600 basement carparking spaces. John was also responsible for the Coles store developments in Sippy Downs and Ashmore, the refurbishment of the Eagle Street Pier retail tenancies in Brisbane for Stockland and for the design of Stages 2 and 3 of the Northshore Retail Centre in Townsville.John’s role as Associate Director included business development, client services, project initiation and concept and schematic design stage services. He lead teams in the preparation of Development Applications and high quality design and presentation packages for approval and marketing purposes. John has had experience with matters before the Planning & Environment Court in Queensland and is also contributing to the development of the office Quality Management System. Show less
