I am inspired to share my love of clear and open communication, help people bring out the best in themselves, and develop ways to make it easier for people to get things done and be happy at work.Over the years, I've taught thousands of business people around the world how to think clearly and communicate persuasively.I began my career in communications in 1985 as a business writer and editor. In 1988, I became Senior Producer at AVW, Houston’s premier multimedia production company. We created programs designed to inspire customers, motivate employees, and simplify complex ideas. In 1993, I was asked to help develop a business-writing curriculum at Harvard Business School. For the next six years, I taught business writing classes for first-year MBA students.Then, in 1998 I was invited to join the faculty at the European School of Economics in Rome, Italy. I was Professor of Business Communications and created three courses for undergraduate students.In 2000, I joined an Internet start-up as Vice President of Marketing. That company was acquired in 2002. I then launched my training business, offering communication skills workshops for companies, non-profit associations, the military, and government agencies around the world. I'm proud to have earned the International Association of Business Communicators All-Star Speaker honor.
