Nearly 50 years of experience as broad based media, information and educational publishing industries senior executive, with over 25 years of experience as private capital investor and fund management company General Partner. Recently retired after 32 years with VSS (Veronis Suhler Stevenson). Initially a publishing related direct marketing consultant, then an operating publishing executive at Psychology Today / CRM, then CBS Publications then CBS Publishing Group, then at VSS a specialized media M&A professional with many hundreds of buying and selling transactions. Then for 20 years at VSS both M&A and private equity buyout fund management and from '04 til retirement pure private transaction fund capital raising, deal development, due diligence, investment committee oversight of over 60 portfolio companies and over 300 add-on acquisitions.During my publishing, CBS and VSS careers, served on the boards of the following industry associations: American Publishers (Books) Association, American Newspaper Publishers (affiliated member), and also participated broadly in the Direct Marketing Association, the Information Industry Association, American Business Media, The Magazine Publishers Association, SIIA (Software and Information Industry Association)Managing the investment portfolio of the Suhler Family Investment Office. Minority investment positions in investee companies include American Trade Magazines, LLC, The Praetorian Group, GTxcel (formerly Godengo-Texterity), Spanfeller Media Group, Duchess Marden, Vital Herd, Aggregage, Machinio, Sure Done, Media Crossing, and Page Science.I am a long time member of the CT Investment Group, and a member of the New York Angels.Going forward, interested in associating and investing with small companies, both established and early stage, in the industries in which I have had multiple experiences over the years.
