A new Open Source Adaptive AUTOSAR product that focuses on safety and shared common core components. The license allows users ownership of application-specific configuration files and the adding of unique & separate proprietary components to suit individual applications. As is normal for open source licensing, the modifications to the core components must be returned to the maintaining organization. This project will overcome barriers to the widespread sharing of safety-related design & development of AUTOSAR's core elements while being compliant to its standards. Industry estimates are that only about 5,000 vehicle engineers are available to work with the standard worldwide. That isn't enough engineers to repeat the same proprietary AUTOSAR developments. Terumo(3M) Cardiovascular Systems Mar 1994 - Apr 1994
    Ann Arbor, Michigan, Us
A project to develop and correctly print a nomogram to set the parameters of a heart lung machine. The machine was used in open heart surgery while the patient's heart was not working to temporarily circulate blood. Given two parameters the chart would determine a third quickly. If done incorrectly the patient could have unfortunate results. It required I derive the determining equations correctly as my review found flaws. Printing the chart required learning and programming the calculation-printing-application in the postscript printing language directly. This to be sure the chart was accurately printed on all postscript printers. Terumo Cardiovascular System was a 3M company at that time.

Worked at the University of Michigan Space Physics Laboratory for Professor James G. Anderson on a project developing a resonance fluorescence technique. It was being used to measure chemical species in the upper atmosphere. As part of a high altitude balloon instrumentation package it was dropped to take vertical profile data of chemical species. The empirical data was used to calculate impacts on high altitude OZone and its depletion by chlorofluorocarbons, CFC.The research moved to Harvard. See http://www.arp.harvard.edu/ where it continues to contributed to further understandings about Global Warming. thirty-five years before that phrase was invented, Professor Anderson's research help accurately predicted impacts of atmospheric pollution.
