As a member of Allianz Group, Euler Hermes is the global leader in credit insurance with operations in over 50 countries and 36% share of the world market. Within the company I am a senior analyst on the Special Risks Team with responsibility for the monitoring and control of a portfolio of corporate customers who are considered to be the group’s larger and more sensitive risks. My remit covers a diverse range of businesses covering industry sectors including financial services, chemicals, retail, engineering, packaging, wholesale distribution and agriculture. The role involves supporting management and underwriting teams to mitigate / prevent claims and losses through:• Qualitative and quantitative analysis;• The preparation of in-depth reports;• Presenting findings and recommendations to Euler’s risk directorate at formal credit committee meetings;• Maintaining contact with and undertaking visits to customers;• Reviewing financial information to identify key risks and undertake continuous monitoring of the businesses;• Provide guidance to other Euler business units, and• Ad-hoc tasks including mentoring junior staff and the preparation of industry reviews.Written reports include detailed reviews of a company’s structure, its industry sector and market dynamics in which it operates a comparative review of its peers, a full review of its financial performance including the level and structure of its debt.

Manage a portfolio of Corporate Bank Managers, supporting the development of their credit skills, ensuring that they achieve the required standards to assign their lending discretion.

Responsible for the credit risk training and ongoing support for a portfolio of newly appointed Corporate managers or those who had let their standards slip. I ensured that their training plans were current and those requiring remedial assistance had the necessary action plan in place to ensure that their personal leding discretions returned to an appropriate level.
