I am looking to create a network of contacts that can help me build a career in the field of mechanical engineering & Quality Assurance. Any advice is greatly appreciated. I was raised that you get what you work for and no one owes you anything.I started working part time at 14 at an auto shop, where I learned that I enjoy understanding how things function, and to how to deal with customers. At 18 I joined the Marines, where I worked my way up to fire team leader. In the process I learned the importance of co-operation and team work, along with being punctual, self disciplined, and self motivated. At 22 I was Honorably discharged, and took a few months to see family and friends before I started working at Carmax in Knoxville as an inventory associate. During my schooling the opportunity to work as an intern at Oak Ridge National Laboratories presented itself and I have been working at the Manufacturing Demonstration Facility with additive manufacturing on the polymer side. As of may 2018 I graduated the University of Tennessee Knoxville with a Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Aerospace Engineering and a GPA of 3.5. I am currently working as QA at ORNL.
