Currently working on a project with the Veterans Administration writing AWS Lambda functions using Node js. The project is a technology refresh from an old Oracle Client/Server application to a serverless cloud implementation. One of my responsibilities was to pull the specifications out of the Oracle PL/SQL code and convert it to Node Js which runs in Lambda serverless environment. I have also written openAPI 3.0 scripts in YAML using StopLight Studio and Swagger to document our restful API's that are also executed in Lamda functions and written in Node Js.

I worked as an infrastructure Team Manager for the Navy Claimant Financial Management System project (CFMS). In the summer of 2018, I managed a team of engineers that migrated the CFMS application out of our Navy Datacenter and into AWS Govcloud where I functioned as the lead cloud architect· upgraded our middle tier and database products from Oracle 11g to 12c. These products included Oracle Access Manager (OAM), Oracle identity Manager (OID), Weblogic infrastructure for 12c and Oracle Enterprise Edition 12c· Provided Database, network and systems administration support for the project.· Wrote bash shell scripts in support of the projects mission.

Continued to support the CFMS project as an infrastructure engineer, managing database backups, Operating system upgrades, COTS software upgrades and integration, operating system and COTS software patching, network troubleshooting. I also worked with the Information Assurance personnel to keep and maintain our ATO. Our software stack included Oracle Weblogic 11g, Oracle HTTP server 11g, Oracle Access Manager 11g, Oracle Internet Directory 11g and Oracle Enterprise Edition RDBMS with Real Application Cluster 11g. In 2015, I installed another server and configured Cognos BI version 10 which we used to replace Oracle Discoverer when it became a discontinued product.

Built, networked, and installed the Oracle software on the entire suite of servers that made up the CFMS enterprise. This included the use of Oracle’s single sign on implementation, which allowed CAC card authentication against our OID repository database. Used Oracle’s high availability solutions by implementing a RAC cluster on two database servers and used a Netapp NAS for clustered file system· Configured the VLANS in our Dell Power Connect switches and implemented a master/slave failover· Configured the NIC cards on all servers to use bonded ports to take advantage of the master slave switch configuration· Functioned as the Systems administrator and database administrator· Responsibilities included writing scripts to perform hot backups of our various database instances, captured performance statistics, applied security patches to mitigate IAVA’s that were published on a weekly basis as well as quarterly patches that were released by Oracle, maintained the security posture of all hardware and software assets by mitigating issues that violated STIG requirements· Provided STIG check lists as well as other artifacts for the IA team to fulfill the requirements to keep and maintain our Authority to Operate (ATO).· Set up a failover solution to switch our operation to our coop site in San Diego CA.· The initial Oracle products that I integrated into our hardware suite were at version 10G. In 2011, I upgraded our 10G middle tier and database tier products to 11G.

Converted civilian budgeting tool in CFMS (see below) from Oracle Forms to a J2EE Web environment. New environment relied heavily on Java JSP's, Java Script, and leveraged the scalability of struts. We initially implemented our persistence layer using entity beans but later converted to Hibernate. After getting the application into production, continued supporting users and providing upgrades until I moved into an administrative role for the project

Consultant/ProgrammerOracle Corporation | October 2001 - September 2005 | 3 years 11 monthsI was assigned to work on the Claimant Financial Management System (CFMS) as a programmer analyst. I was assigned the task of converting a client/server PowerBuilder application which was used for civilian budgeting into oracle forms and to re-design the database structures (tables/stored procedures/triggers etc.) so that the application would conform to the Navy's biennial budget. The Forms were written in Oracle Forms 4.6 and converted to run as a thick web client in a three tiered architecture. I also had to integrate the application into the CFMS common line of accounting. During this period, I worked with a team of programmers to start converting our Oracle web forms into Java JSPs and objects, leveraging the scalability of struts to satisfy the Navy's push towards Task Force Web.
