A versatile position which utilizes the companies consulting and technological resources to provide clients with valuable insight into the unique characteristics of their vineyard soils, while upholding the company philosophy of sustainable viticulture, conservation of soil/water resources, and environmental stewardship.• Writing of evaluative and technical soil reports utilizing the physical, chemical, and biological characterization of client soils (based from diagnostic visits) to determine suitability of a location for development, focusing in on recommendations for soil amendments and/or remediation, if necessary. Other technical reports include weather/climate evaluations, irrigation recommendations, government grant applications, and company SOPs.• Presenting on relevant topics to vineyard property owners, vineyard managers, and other relevant vineyard personnel— past lectures included topics such as soil health, tillage and non-tillage systems, soil microbiology, vineyard soil water use/conservation, and sustainable soil management practices.•Managing a team of technicians to meet important weekly client reporting deadlines during the growing season, which includes delegating daily tasks, overseeing training of technicians on important tasks, and ensuring quality standards are reached.•Working with advanced soil mapping technologies, such as Soil Information System TM (SIS) and VinSense Technology, and mapping programs, such as ArcGIS, to assess soil properties in order to help clients find effective solutions to the unique challenges presented by their soils.•Supporting the team of viticulturists in a broad range of consulting services: performing onsite diagnostic visits and soil evaluations, marketing of consulting services to current and prospective clients, consulting on environmental and soil moisture monitoring technologies, creating comprehensive irrigation schedules, and many other general client vineyard services.
