At one of the smaller cutting-edge universities in Sweden I learned that a cub, if still a lion, can’t survive on the savannah (or even Västgötaschlätta) on its own. By building alliances and teaming up it can both thrive and survive. Some would argue that in order to survive in the construction industry John, who once tried to hammer a screw, has had to develop extraordinary skills of collaboration and bringing-people-together to get the job done.Life is too short to waste on improductive conflict or poorly planned meetings. So what I believe and work for is bringing people of different perspectives together, learning from them and helping build on each others’ strengths and perspectives to solve puzzles and try to have as much fun as possible along the way. So far:• Nationally and internationally acclaimed integrated collaboration projects.• The global standard ISO/TR 44000 - 12 Principles for Successful Collaborative Business Relationship Managment.• A national committee that took part in developing ISO 44001 and related standards in an international setting spanning from China to the US.• NCC being awarded Station Hagastaden in 2021.
