Lowered average order cycle time from 5 days to 12 hours.Manager of Corporate ProcurementRestructured supply chain management team and worked with Asian supplier to resolve a 500,000 unit backlog on the Compaq iPaq handheld. Ramped factory capacity up tenfold within 120 days and delivered record production ramp volumes to support the company’s largest market share of PDAs. Initiated a third party program for production materials, and royalty and distribution programs to drive revenue and operational efficiencies. Corporate Procurement Engineer—CompaqSourced, specified, qualified and selected interconnects to support desktops, servers and notebooks. Led standardization of interconnects that saved $50 million annually. Consolidated supplier based by 50%. Chaired InfiniBand, a next generation I/O interface standards committee that released 1.0 interconnect specification and award process.Commodity Manager—CompaqLed the first deployment of a desktop production product line with an Asian supplier. Launched deployment on time, with a $14 million annual production savings and improved quality.Product Engineer—Compaq Introduced an offline manufacturing qualification build that saved up to $10 million annually and eliminated new product production downtime. Participated in Executive Roundtables to develop product design standards and cost reduction strategies.
