Technical project management role overlooking UBM EMEA Built Environment’s two editorial websites – Building.co.uk and BDOnline.co.uk.Managed weekly online seminars (or ‘webinars’) from inception to completion including attending client meetings and chairing conference calls; creating budgets, timelines and reports; liaising with the client and internal editorial, sales and marketing departments to ensure events were delivered on time and within budget; building and customising online consoles; usability testing; training panellists and live technical support for the audience.Day-to-day responsibilities were to oversee maintenance, development and design of the desktop and mobile websites and to collaborate with internal staff on video, e-learning, ad trafficking, social media and subscriptions – basically a ‘one man web services team’.During my time at UBM I built up an excellent internal reputation and was often called upon by different departments to assist on their projects and with training their staff.I made the decision to leave the company in June 2015 and go travelling around the world for six months.

Virtual/online event project management and production role in UBM Live’s Client Solutions department (an internal agency) including managing and building careers fairs, conferences, exhibitions, communities and webinars.In January 2013 I project managed a virtual training fair for Armed Forces leavers and its success led to a full careers fair in July 2013, which became the largest UK event of its kind.In October 2012 I project managed the most profitable virtual event the division had ever produced – a £150,000 online worldwide strategy conference for Johnson Controls’ 3,000 leadership staff.Gained an Agile project management practitioner certificate, two virtual event platform builder certificates and experience working with international development teams.

Website development/design role looking after three of UBM Built Environment’s editorial magazine websites – Building.co.uk, BDOnline.co.uk and PropertyWeek.com.In 2008 I was heavily involved in the successful relaunch of these three websites (and their job board sites) onto a new and improved CMS including content migration, rebuilding sections and pages, and integrating the new technology available.Personally responsible for redesigning the websites’ email newsletters, resulting in a significant increase in open rates and click-throughs to the editorial and job board sites.Day-to-day responsibilities were building new sections on the websites (both coding and designing) and ensuring the magazine content was aesthetically reflected online by the weekly publication date.Project managed a number of successful webinars, which led to being promoted to the role above.
