John is the CEO of J5, applying human-centred design to reimagine systems, digital experiences, and services. His company works with some of the Canada’s largest organizations including the Government of Alberta, Suncor Energy, Canadian Mental Health Association, United Way Canada, and Alberta Health Services. In 2018, he co-founded the Social Impact Lab in collaboration with a global charity, United Way to tackle important societal problems such as mental health, poverty and homelessness. This work aligns to his longer term vision of creating new kinds of solutions to systemic challenges in our community. In addition to his work with corporations and non-profits, he volunteers his time as a board member for the Gordie Howe Centre for Alzheimers Research and Education Society, SAIT's School of Hospitality and Tourism and provides ongoing mentorship to social entrepreneurs.Prior to starting J5, he had senior leadership roles in large enterprise organizations such as Ernst and Young, Xerox Canada, Dell and Capgemini Consulting.
