In my current position as Director of Engineering at Ameresco, I’m responsible for supporting our existing xChange Point subscription customer base, as well as, Engineering for all new installation. A typical installation consists of monitoring key energy points on the plant’s central utilities - Steam, Hot Water, Chilled Water, Refrigeration, Electric, NG, Water and Wastewater. When possible, required data is captured via existing metering. This is done by interfacing to PLCs, system controllers, HMIs, Historians or direct meter interface. When metering does not exist, new metering is specified, installed, and interface to an existing nearby PLC or an installed data collector device. Data is then centrally aggregated via our gateway, buffered as required, and sent out to the cloud via a secure socket layer connection on the company’s corporate network. Made significant contributions to the organization from our data sampling methods, data collection algorithms, as well as, to our standard equipment build packages. I was also responsible for out sourcing our data center to RackSpace and redesigning our helpdesk work process. Responsible delivering several successful projects for fortune 500 companies while at Ameresco, namely: Kraft Food, Land O’ Lakes, Dean Foods, Coke, Avon Products, Butterball, L3 Communications, Boeing, and others.
