In my current position as Director of Engineering at Ameresco, I’m responsible for supporting our existing xChange Point subscription customer base, as well as, Engineering for all new installation. A typical installation consists of monitoring key energy points on the plant’s central utilities - Steam, Hot Water, Chilled Water, Refrigeration, Electric, NG, Water and Wastewater. When possible, required data is captured via existing metering. This is done by interfacing to PLCs, system controllers, HMIs, Historians or direct meter interface. When metering does not exist, new metering is specified, installed, and interface to an existing nearby PLC or an installed data collector device. Data is then centrally aggregated via our gateway, buffered as required, and sent out to the cloud via a secure socket layer connection on the company’s corporate network. Made significant contributions to the organization from our data sampling methods, data collection algorithms, as well as, to our standard equipment build packages. I was also responsible for out sourcing our data center to RackSpace and redesigning our helpdesk work process. Responsible delivering several successful projects for fortune 500 companies while at Ameresco, namely: Kraft Food, Land O’ Lakes, Dean Foods, Coke, Avon Products, Butterball, L3 Communications, Boeing, and others.

IBM, OCE, Xerox, and Bowe Bell and Howell are resellers and OEMs. • Proposed and managed project to upgrade IP network from Frame-Relay to IP/MPLS and extended support via VPN for remote workers. Lowered operation cost by over 20% while improving bandwidth and providing required infrastructure for proposed VoIP system. • Negotiated existing data, telecom, wireless, and computer hardware/software maintenance contracts – achieved over 15% aggregate cost reduction and improved vendor performance by establishing vendor service level agreements and instituted processes for issue processing, tracking, and escalation.• Restructured existing IT department and established governance model that introduced standard methodology for evaluating Technology enhancements, user requests, and procurement. Responsible for managing mobile technology (WWAN/GPS/POS/BOR/telematics), route optimization (bulk/cylinder/service), real-time central dispatching (mapping/messaging/tracking), and call center (CRM/ACD/IVR) PMO threads. Subject matter expert for ERP thread. Documented “As Is” processes, gathered business requirements, analyzed/identified key areas for improvement, developed/documented “To Be” processes, and performed detailed gap analysis for short list candidates (Oracle/SAP). • Aligned with various project teams and business leaders to develop business transformation plan for presentation to UGI and AmeriGas Board of Directors. Included geographic rollout impacts, and phasing/timeline/resourcing options in ROI/cash flow model - provided 3 and 5 year implementation strategies. Aggregate cost benefit analysis showed $27 million annual operating cost reduction on $65 million investment.

Director Enterprise Architecture OTC Centralization Proof of Concept and Large Scale Pilot• Partnered with executive team in obtaining buy-in and securing funding for a large scale multi-phase OTC business transformation pilot in Michigan and Ohio - supporting $200 million in revenue. Developed high level implementation plan, budget, and timeline. Key contributor in developing detailed ROI and cash flow model. Presented multiple options and secured choices/approvals. Provided guidance in selection of functional team members. • Responsible for and executed within $9.1M budget and expected timeframes. Architected solution and directed all pilot project teams from inception through post Go Live analysis. Responsible for over 70 project team members – internal and consultants organization-wide.• Achieved $3M annual cost reductions, effectively managed change while retaining staff, enhanced span of control and quality of service by centralizing and automating customer service, inside sales, collections, ERP, in/outbound logistics and dispatch systems.

Director Information Technology• Directed all Information Technology teams for the Midwest Region and managed multi-million dollar budget supporting: call center – CRM/WFM/KM/QM, data center infrastructure – servers/storage/network/backup/UPS/HVAC, telecommunications - PBX/ACD/IVR/PDS, computer/network security – firewall/VPN/Anti-Virus, desktop support, vehicle technology, business support systems – AR/AP/GL/HR/ERP, relational database - BI/reporting, and software development – Web/SQL/thin-client. Achieved $660K EBITDA improvement via IT department restructuring, technology contract negotiations and system enhancements in first year.• Designed and managed implementation of enterprise wide in/out-bound collections call center. Centralized/synchronized distributed customer and billing data from over 1,000 stores (over 1.3 million customers) and reengineered distributed business processes for execution in a call center environment. Collaborated with business process owners and senior management in redefining and expanding business rules, as well as, in developing call campaigns/strategies. Developed OLAP cubes for mining customer and agent data and performance reporting. Reduced operating expense by $550K via reduction in FTEs and third party collections. Reduced annual bad debt expense by more than $2.2 million (25% improvement) and lowered Days Sales Outstanding by multiple days• Co-Chaired team to develop corporate Sarbanes-Oxley IT policies and procedures. Implemented in Midwest Region and successfully passed PwC audit.

WHM Emprises was the parent company for Park Place ($7M airport parking company), and Horizon Propane, a propane transportation and distribution company, grew rapidly to $84M (top 10 U.S.) in 10 years from start-up. Horizon business unit acquired by Amerigas in 2003• Provided IT leadership across all departments and operating companies: software development, database management, financial/operations reporting/BI, project management, network & data center, network security, desktop support, and telecommunication equipment. Responsible for over 50 employees and consultants.• Developed and implemented IT strategic plans for all business units and managed tactical refinements to ensure alignment with business plans/objectives. • Cultivated strategic partnerships with key technology vendors including data network, telecommunications, data center infrastructure, desktop hardware, packaged software vendors, wireless, and technology consultants. • Co-designed industry unique business model. Implemented supporting systems and technologies to centralize all back office business processes, as well as, extend real-time customer information and point-of-sale activities to field workers.
