ADERANT is a comprehensive business practice management software provider for legal and professional services firms of all sizes, and is the world's largest independent legal software company.• Led team that created a “smart form wizard” application that was used by both Aderant and their clients to generate custom user interfaces called “smart forms.” Smart forms used Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) to display and edit data from custom middle-tier business objects, which could then communicate with the back office and the MS SQL database.• Assisted in updating the company’s legacy C++ application and framework to support Unicode.• Responsible for enhancements to client user interface and MS Office integration of Starlaw document management system.• Responsible for enhancements to the Starlaw document management server.

Relay Software was focused on making a customizable web based workflow products that would revolutionize the way law firms were doing business. These applications were tailored to model the firm's complex business processes and rules. My primary role was architect and software developer.

Contracted with Florida Dept. of Agriculture and Consumer Services. • Responsible for the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services website.• Focused on website enhancements and the conversion from VB.NET with an Oracle database to C# programming language.• The website enabled individuals and businesses to obtain or renew various state licenses online.

Hummingbird was a Canadian company which was a leading player in the Enterprise Content Management (ECM) software market. Acquired by Open Text in 2006.• Served on the Document Management (DM) team and focused on the client-side software involving COM/DCOM and C++.• Upgraded the Oracle database interface to an updated version of OCI.• Led a team to research the product direction using Microsoft.Net and C#.• Reviewed the rewrites of the web product in ASP.NET.

• Assisted in the initial release of the “Lawmaker” product for The Florida House of Representatives law making process.• The web application suite was developed in conjunction with the Microsoft Consulting Services using early beta releases of Visual Studio.NET, C#, ASP.NET, as well as JavaScript, MS SQL Server and SharePoint Portal Server.• Developed web applications, SharePoint web parts, class library code and documentation.• Managed a team of 3 and served as a technical resource on the project.

Originally named "CMS Data" when I was hired, company was later acquired by Australian company "Solution 6". Manager of Programming• Assisted with migration of parts of product to ASP.NET web application to go with Windows applications.• Managed the Tallahassee developer team, consisting of 15-20 professionals.Senior Developer – Customization Tools Specialist• Developed tools and applications for “CMS Open”, a product suite of several hundred applications for Legal Practice Management.• Worked primarily with C++, WIN32 API, SQL and ATL/COM.• Developed numerous library features including custom controls and forms.• Created File Opening application and assisted with Conflicts Searching application.• Worked on “Hydra”, a customizable database access tool, after the release of Visual Studio 5.5. PC DOCS, Inc. focused on Enterprise Content Management or ECM (a.k.a. document management) solutions for large organizations such as legal, accounting, and professional services lines of business.• Part of Core team for the initial release of “PC DOCS OPEN”, a Windows-based document management product built with proprietary development tools based on client/server SQL architecture. The product won PC Magazines “Editor’s Choice” award for several years after the release.• Completed “Library Maintenance” application, and developed the database generation tool which ran on Sybase, Oracle and Gupta SQL platforms.• Added user interface utility classes to the central class libraries.• Gained experience with SQL DBMS platforms and multiple network APIs including Novell & Banyan Vines. Afterward, moved to parent company (at the time), CMS Data which was also planning their first Windows-based release.
