Currently employed by the Crown Prosecution Service as their Head of Systems and Service Integration, responsible for managing the IT infrastructure, onboarding services from external suppliers and engaging with external suppliers to ensure best value, and growing a team of specialists to facilitate the Service Management function at CPS.In previous roles I have been responsible for setting IT strategy and direction, managing six figure budgets, and running several successful IT departments.Key results include;Building an IT infrastructure team from the ground up, recruiting, managing and mentoring the team, cross-training in critical skills and writing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure business continuity.Developing and implementing an IT Infrastructure Strategy for the University of Wales, Newport, to consolidate the Infrastructure resulting in a >50% reduction in physical plant, a >33% reduction in power usage and a corresponding reduction in licensing and maintenance costs.Multiple smaller IT projects, including a full refresh of the server and storage estate, a full network and wireless refresh including WAN provision for satellite offices and developing an in-house Critical Data Resilience strategy to provide a resilient and highly-available IT service (with 4 9s availability across 3 years). Reduced the University's reliance on Shadow IT and brought multiple departmental systems under the IT department's umbrella. Planned and executed 2 separate DC moves for two different organisations with no system issues and minimal downtime.Took over an existing IT department for St David's College, Cardiff, a school of 1600 pupils and 150 staff, on a one year contract. Developed a long-term proactive IT strategy to ensure that the school's IT was fit-for-purpose and fully future-proofed.Completed a CDR review and implemented a DR plan.
