The Assistant Director of Nursing position is responsible for the safe efficient functioning of St. Vincent’s Fitzroy site outside of business operational hours, when the presence of senior leadership (General managers, Department Heads, executive and specific business owners) are not on site and in accordance with the objectives and policies of SVHM.Key Position Duties:* Responsible for independent coordination of administration and clinical activities afterhours that include operational leadership of all nursing and non-nursing units.* Responsible for after hour hazards, incidents and issues: Including reports to VHIMS, OHS, STAR, Occupational Exposure, Pharmacy, Engineering, IT and escalating to Executive as required. Reports may be oral and written as required.* Coordinate the delivery of additional resources, services and supply of technical equipment and products needed for patent care during an emergency.* Arrange debriefing following an emergency or incident utilising hospital counselling services.* Responsible for liaising with NUMs, ANUMs, relatives, Managers and General Manager for all issues of quality care.

The Hospital After Hours Coordinator is responsible for coordinating clinical services across thehospital in the absence of the departmental NUMs, Operations Manager and Director of Nursing. This role will assume overall responsibility of the hospital, ensuring appropriate patient care, staffing, safety and security.Duties:* Management of emergency situations including all Codes and informing Executive on call* Management of beds to maintain full occupancy* Report to Executive or communication manager any significant issues or relevant media issues* Provide oversight of sick leave replacement or backfill allocation of human resources in conjunction with units and NWU* Support organisational and local processes to ensure high standard of care through identification of and solving problems out of hours followed by communication of issues, outcomes and follow up required across the 24 hour period* Responsible for Emergency Management coordination for the Rehabilitation, GEM, Normanby Aged Psych Unit, Prague House, Ellerslie Unit, Berrengarra, Cambridge Unit, Riverside Unit and Auburn House.

Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) - Acts as NUM (Nurse Unit Manager) during out of hours, responsible for providing an advanced level of nursing care. on the GEM Unit.

Communicate event and actions taken and required to NUMs, clinical directors and appropriate heads of department• Liaise with ancillary departments such as Support Services, Engineering and Infrastructure, Infection Control and Procurement and Logistics to ensure management across the service• Liaise with Emergency Coordinators at the RVEEH on the Park as required
