I was also a museum mountmaker for over 4 years at Sanders Museum Services, creating armatures and mounts for various institutions nationwide. Mountmaker
Mountmaker for the Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Folk Art Museum and the DeWitt Wallace Decorative Arts Museum. I fabricate, fit, assemble, and install custom hardware mounts, armatures, display systems, low-voltage display lighting components, and associated artwork. Mounts created with a variety of metals, plastics, foams, woods, fabrics, and other exhibition materials utilizing brazing, soldering, welding, drilling, cutting, fastening, sanding, filing, and painting techniques. I produce design documents, including photographs, notes, drawings, and specifications necessary to produce custom mounts, hardware, display support components and systems for a variety of artworks and artifacts. I also maintain archives of those items.
